Georgii Merkulov has been lighting it up in the American Hockey League for the Providence Bruins with 17 goals, 25 assists and 42 points in 41 games heading into AHL All-Star weekend, which starts tonight with the skills competition.
With there being a bit of uncertainty with Boston’s lineup on Saturday, the Bruins have opted to make a recall up front.
Georgii Merkulov has been named the AHL Player of the Month for December. The 23-year-old forward played in 12 games for the Providence Bruins in December, scoring 10 goals and 18 points.
To close out 2023, the Boston Bruins added another NHL debut to their list of debuts made in the last year. With Matt Poitras playing in World Juniors, a spot has opened up at center on Boston’s roster.
Merkulov logged 15:08 of ice time in his NHL debut during Boston's win over the Devils.
