The Chargers continued the process of building their roster for the 2021 season on Wednesday by claiming defensive lineman Eric Banks and defensive back Trey Marshall off of waivers.
Denver Broncos safety Trey marshall and running back LeVante Bellamy both suffered ankle injuries during Saturday’s preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings, coach Vic Fangio confirmed after the game.
Marshall will be in a battle for the final safety spots on the roster. Trey Marshall finds himself in a somewhat crowded Denver Broncos safety group. Heading into his fourth season, Marshall sits squarely on the roster bubble.
Adding some safety help was a must for the Denver Broncos this offseason. Behind starters Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson, the Broncos had just two options, and neither inspired confidence. Among them is Trey Marshall, a former undrafted free agent out of Florida State.
The Broncos will waive safety Shamarko Thomas in order to promote rookie safety Trey Marshall from the practice squad, league sources tell Mike Klis of 9News (on Twitter).
