According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Green Bay Packers worked out the following players on Tuesday: receiver Geronimo Allison, receiver Danny Davis, tackle Sage Doxtater, tackle Derek Kerstetter, tackle Sam Schlueter and center Chris Owens.
According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the Packers waived G Cole Schneider and DB Donte Vaughn from injured reserve with settlements. Packers WR Danny Davis and S Vernon Scott also reverted to injured reserve after clearing waivers.
Green Bay moved one player under the new 80-man limit with this move. Based on reporting from training camp early in the day, it appeared that the Green Bay Packers would make three transactions on Tuesday to get down to the NFL’s 80-man roster limit.
Doubs and Davis make their mark, but depth remains a major concern. The Packers kicked off the preseason against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs a year ago, with far fewer starters, and far less at stake.
I cannot wait for training camp. And the reason is simple: I love to see the guy that nobody gives a chance, surprise everyone. This year that guy is Danny Davis.
