WWE Superstar Bobby Roode will be a part of today's Summerslam festivities but in a backstage capacity.

The former NXT Champion has been out of action since late 2022 and has undergone neck fusion surgery. In May of this year, it was reported that Roode's career had hit another setback as he had to undergo a second neck fusion surgery.

Bobby Roode at Summerslam

PW Insider was the first to report that the Glorious One is in Detroit for the Summerslam Premium Live Event. In an update, it was disclosed that Roode will be helping out behind the scenes as a producer for the show. Roode will also be at next week's Raw in the same role. The August 7, 2023, edition of Monday Night Raw will take place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

WWE Producers

While Bobby Roode is a veteran of the ring and will no-doubt have useful information as a producer, this new role may not be a good sign for the Former U.S. Champion. Typically, Superstars only transition into a role as a producer after their in-ring careers have come to an end. An example of this is Jason Jordan who has received high praise for his role as a producer ever since injuries ended his in-ring career in 2018. Neither WWE nor Roode have publicly commented on his in-ring career possibly being finished.

Prior to his absence, Roode spoke about the possibility of his IMPACT tag-team partner James Storm signing with WWE. Click here to find out more.
