Trick Williams crowned NXT Champion at Spring Breakin'

Trick Williams is the new NXT Champion.

Williams pinned Ilja Dragunov in the main event of NXT Spring Breakin' to win the championship for the first time, striking Dragunov with a knee strike for the win. After the match, the two hugged as Dragunov handed the championship to Williams. The show ended with Williams celebrating with fans in the crowd.

This ends Dragunov’s run with the title after 206 days. He defeated Carmelo Hayes for the title at No Mercy back in September.

After defeating Hayes at NXT Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend, Williams called his shot for another match against Dragunov for the NXT title. Dragunov would only agree to a match if Williams would put his career in NXT on the line.

Throughout Tuesday's show, many WWE main roster stars gave their thoughts on the main event of Spring Breakin’, with former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano giving Williams a pep talk shortly before he made his way to the ring. While Dragunov was being interviewed, he met World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, who wished him luck.
