A comment made by Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman upon returning to the WWF in 1998 drew the ire of his former employers at WCW.

Waltman, who had previously worked as the 1-2-3 Kid, returned to WWE on the first Raw after WrestleMania 14. Now known as X-Pac, Waltman was reintroduced as part of Triple H's new D-Generation X, after the Game had taken control of the faction from Shawn Michaels following the latter's retirement due to his back injury.

Waltman's Promo

In a fiery promo, Waltman addressed his absence from WWE and made reference to his Kliq allies Kevin Nash & Scott Hall, who were still with WCW at the time. Waltman said that both men would have been standing alongside him on Raw were they not "being held hostage by WCW."

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Waltman recalled WCW's reaction to the comment.

"I got deposed for that. The deposition was classic... [The lawyer for WCW] goes, 'Why did you say Kevin Nash and Scott Hall would be right there with you if they weren't being held hostage by WCW?' I said, 'Well I was talking to Kev the night before and he told me it would be a good idea if I said that.'"

Waltman added that it wasn't the only comment that WCW's legal team questioned.

"[The lawyer asks] 'What do you mean s*ck it?' 'What do you think it means?'"

While Nash & Hall would return to WWE, it wouldn't come until after the demise of WCW. Both men would return as part of the NWO in 2002 and would align on-screen with Waltman.

Waltman's tenure with DX and the WCW's NWO would earn him two WWE Hall of Fame inductions. The former European Champion was inducted with his DX allies in 2019 and as part of the NWO in 2021 as part of the postponed 2020 class.

AEW has tried to sign Waltman several times, according to Billy Gunn. Click here to find out more.
