The Aug. 24 episode of Ring of Honor featured a NJPW World Television Championship match with Christopher Daniels challenging the champion Zack Sabre Jr. The NJPW World TV Champion returned to ROH after falling short in the G1 Climax for New Japan Pro Wrestling. 

Another match on the card had Kiera Hogan try to rebound from her loss to Athena on the June 22 episode of ROH TV. In last week's episode, Lady Frost defeated Trish Adora, which caught the interest of Hogan. After Frost's match, Hogan shared in a backstage interview that she wanted to face Frost on the Aug. 24 episode. 

 The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno & John Silver) also faced Dalton Castle & The Boys(Brandon & Brent) in a Six-Man Tag Team match. The Dark Order has been showing more of an edge to the faction after losing Stu Grayson to The Righteous. Castle has been trying to get another opportunity at the ROH World TV Championship after losing to Samoa Joe at ROH: Death Before Dishonor on June 21. Both teams came into the match with something to prove.
