Nigel McGuiness Taking Measures to Make In-Ring Return Happen

Nigel McGuiness hasn't competed in over a decade, but the AEW Collision commentator has plans in place for an in-ring return. 

McGuiness' final match was in December of 2011, and his final televised match came in September of 2010 when he faced Stevie Richards during an episode of TNA Xplosion. A diagnosis of Hepatitis B during his TNA Wrestling run would play a huge factor in McGuiness' career coming to an end. 

In-Ring Return

Fightful Select reports that McGuiness, a former Ring of Honor World Champion, has been taking measures to try and make an in-ring return happen. It was not clarified by sources if McGuiness has been cleared for in-ring competition. 

McGuinness was brought up in recent months as a possible competitor on the AEW All In card. At this time, there are no confirmed plans for him to wrestle at the upcoming event, or if this topic has been broached internally within AEW. 

AEW All In 2023

With or without McGuiness, AEW All In will be the promotion's biggest event in the company's history. The August 27, 2023, event will see over 78,000 fans fill Wembley Stadium in London, England, more than who attended SummerSlam 1992 in the same venue. 

The event will be headlined by AEW World Champion MJF defending his title against Adam Cole. The allies will also challenge for the ROH World Tag Team Championships on the kick-off show.
