MJF Recovery Progressing Slower Than What AEW Anticipated
AEW

Several injuries have put MJF on the sidelines and the latest update shows his recovery is going slower than what AEW anticipated.

Heading into Worlds End, MJF was in rough shape. He had been dealing with injuries for months and somehow fought through the pain. If he was not AEW World Champion at the time, he could have been easily removed from TV. Instead, he went out there and wrestled Samoa Joe. In the end, Joe walked away as champion and then Adam Cole and United Kingdom were revealed as the one’s torturing the roster for months.

Since then, MJF has not retuned to TV. The belief remains he is under contract with AEW, despite him teasing for a year about leaving. AEW has been silent on his status and same goes for Tony Khan. While speaking on the Fightful Select Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the injury to MJF. Sapp noted how the healing process is taking longer than expected.

Questions Remain About The Future Of MJF

AEW

“Still healing up,” said Sapp. “I know some things were progressing slower than what they anticipated, but he was always planned for some time off anyway from what I understood. I don’t know if that was once the injury started to happen, but it had become clear by a month out of that pay per view, Worlds End, that he was going to have a pretty extended amount of time out.”

AEW does not want to loss MJF. Whether heel or face, he is over with fans. At his age, AEW can make him one of the stars of the future. Remember, MJF is considered one of the AEW pillars. I do prefer him as the heel, reminding me a bit of Ric Flair, but seeing how he can work as a face increases his stock. Personally, I still think MJF should stay in AEW and become their biggest name. So, with the latest MJF recovery news, will he be back in AEW before summer ends?
