Mark Henry believes AEW will highly benefit from the recent signing of Adam Copeland.

With his WWE contract officially expired, Adam “Edge” Copeland wanted to kick off the next chapter of his career in some new scenery — All Elite Wrestling to be specific. On October 1, Copeland made his company debut at AEW WrestleDream, rushing to the aid of Sting and Darby Allin as they were being attacked by Nick Wayne, Luchasaurus, and Christian Cage.

Following his surprise appearance, Copeland stated that he was looking forward to exploring fresh matchups in AEW, as well as reuniting with Cage, his real-life best friend. During an interview with The Hall of Fame podcast, AEW coach Mark Henry shared his thoughts on Copeland’s arrival to All Elite Wrestling.

“Man, that’s huge, anytime you get a Hall of Fame caliber talent, and there’s levels to it,” Henry said. “You got Hall of Fame caliber wrestlers that were more in the assistance role but when you get a guy that was the franchise, a guy [whose] name was on the top of the bill, even with other unbelievable names. There was a time when Edge’s name was at the top and The Undertaker’s name was next. So anytime you get a guy like that, I’m just saying right now, it’s going to be more beneficial not for ratings but for the development of the people that he’s going to be in the ring with.”

So far, Copeland has competed in one AEW match, making his in-ring debut on the October 10 episode of AEW Dynamite. There, he defeated Luchasaurus in the main event.
