Mark Henry eager to see WWE/AEW crossover for WrestleMania

WWE and AEW are direct rivals. Their styles of wrestling and programming are different. Their approach to generating storylines has been a cause for debate in recent months. Still, Mark Henry believes now would be the perfect time for the two giants to work together.

The WWE Hall of Famer believes adding Dustin Rhodes to the Cody Rhodes storyline against The Bloodline would make perfect sense.

After all, The American Nightmare has already warned The Rock about disrespecting his family. Dustin is no stranger to WWE. He's enjoyed five different stints with the company.

"As far as there being an opportunity for a working relationship, which Triple H said a year and change ago, that they're open for a working relationship with AEW," Henry said during an appearance on Busted Open Radio. "...It's yet to be seen, but they were open for it. This is the time, if you ever were going to do it, try to get it done, you've got four weeks."

AEW has a history of working with other wrestling promotions. Their "Forbidden Door" pay-per-view with New Japan Pro Wrestling has consistently attracted a die-hard audience. They're also working with CMLL at present, having crossover matches on both Dynamite and Collision.

WWE is reportedly open to working with outside companies. Bringing Dustin back for WrestleMania would enrich the Cody storyline. It would also add another dimension to The Bloodline feud.

Henry is right; this would be the perfect time for both companies to mend some broken fences. AEW owner Tony Khan has been vocal about his distaste for the WWE monopoly.

Uniting the two biggest companies, even for a short period, would help end some of the tribalism within the fan bases, too.

It's unlikely that we'll see anything before WrestleMania; however, if both sides are willing, the option should be explored further.
