Lex Luger says he will attempt to walk on stage if he gets inducted into WWE Hall Of Fame

A&E will air a new episode of Biography: WWE Legends this Sunday night about the life and career of Lex Luger.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Luger discussed his health, where he noted that while he has mobility issues from his spinal cord, he is in great health.

"It’s mind-boggling. I’m in phenomenal health," Luger said. "Other than my mobility issues from my spinal cord issue, I’m very healthy, and that’s a miracle of God after what I put my body through. I usually use a wheelchair or a walker, but I can walk some."

He stated that he has great mobility when he drives but has to take precautions because he’s independent. Luger also noted that getting inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame would be the "cherry on top of" his career.

"I might pop out of the chair for that. I would take that chance, if that moment comes. That honor would be the cherry on top of my career."

In 2007, Luger suffered a nerve impingement in his neck, leading to him temporarily suffering from paralysis. The condition is where a nerve is pinched, commonly due to too much pressure being applied to the nerve by the surrounding tissue. Pinched nerves can also lead to other issues, as in Lex’s case, it led to spinal infarction.

Luger has worked as an ambassador for WWE in recent years. Although it’s not known for sure as to why Luger hasn’t been inducted into the Hall of Fame yet, some people in WWE believe it’s due to Vince McMahon not wanting to induct someone who is in a wheelchair. However, with Vince gone and Triple H running things, that could change.
