AEW star Jon Moxley recently spoke highly of the WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk, who recently passed away at the age of 79.

Funk is considered as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. He had multiple stints with WWE. He joined Eastern Championship Wrestling in 1993 that would go on to be Extreme Championship Wrestling, better known as ECW. In the promotion, he helped popularize the hardcore wrestling style.

He made sporadic appearances for WWE through the 2000s and 2010s. He was also active on the independent wrestling scene. His last match took place in 2017. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2009.

Tributes poured in for Terry Funk following his saddening demise. On last week's SmackDown, WWE paid tribute for Funk as well.

Jon Moxley sheds praise on Terry Funk

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley showered praise on the legendary superstar and said that Funk is the greatest of all time.

“If Terry Funk’s not the greatest of all time, then who the f--- is? Terry Funk wasn’t playing a pro wrestler. He was the real thing.”

“You could put him anywhere in the world against any opponent. He’d cut an intense promo dripping with authenticity and then go work a killer match.”

In addition to this, Mox reflected on Terry Funk’s valuable contributions to the wrestling industry. The Blackpool Combat Club member also believes that Funk was able to wrestle in the modern era, he’d be in AEW doing high-risk moves. He said:

“We can learn a lot from Terry Funk. He was so giving. He chose to give back in ECW. And he wasn’t the type of guy who’d say the kids today couldn’t work. He was doing moonsaults in his 50s. If he were wrestling today, I fully believe he’d be in AEW and doing shows for Revolver or Bloodsport and doing Canadian Destroyers.”

Meanwhile, speaking about Jon Moxley, on the latest episode of Dynamite, he defeated Penta El Zero Miedo to secure a title shot against Orange Cassidy for the International Championship at AEW All Out.
