Jim Cornette Calls WWF LiveWire ‘The Worst Wrestling TV Program Ever’

WWE veteran Jim Cornette recently poked fun at WWF LiveWire’s format.

WWF LiveWire was a show that used to run every Saturday morning from 1996 to 2001. For the first four years, USA Network, and then it moved on to the TNN Network before being canceled completely.

The show had a unique approach. For the first few months, the main concept of the show was allowing fans to call into the live show and discuss the week’s episodes and how the storylines advance in the upcoming weeks. This idea was ultimately abandoned, as WWF LiveWire later became a regular recap show

Recently, Jim Cornette shared his thoughts on the WWF LiveWire. The wrestling veteran was convinced that the original version of the show was the worst television program of all time.

“So we had to give up our Saturday mornings to do this, the worst wrestling TV program ever, which had absolutely NO WRESTLING on it,” Jim Cornette tweeted.

LiveWire Legacy

Todd Pettengill was the main host of WWF LiveWire. The show also featured co-hosting appearances from names like Sunny (Tammy Sytch) and Cornette, as well as Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman and Marissa Mazzola, who is Shane McMahon’s wife.

Before WWF LiveWire aired, the show that was in that time slot was the WWF Mania show. It was basically a recap show. Thus, considering the failure of the original LiveWire concept, it swiftly returned to the same WWE Mania format.
