Though Mercedes Mone is on her way to AEW, Bianca Belair hopes that they can pick up their story again one day.

Belair and Mone (the former Sasha Banks) faced off at WrestleMania 37 in 2021, where they became the first Black women to ever headline WrestleMania. The two also worked together as a tag team in WWE.

In an interview with Gorilla Position, Belair was asked if she wants Mone back in WWE and if it's a conversation they've had together. Belair said they haven't had that conversation. She wants Mone to do what's best for her, but Belair thinks there was so much more magic that could have been made between them.

Belair said:

I haven’t had this conversation with her. I don’t know what she wants or what she wants to do. I just want what’s best for her and what she wants to do with her. I’m no one to tell someone what they should do.

What I will say is that we created some magic in the ring at WrestleMania 37. And I think that there was so much more magic to be made. Not even just with us inside the ring, but with me being champion at the time and the tag team champions, I just saw it as so much representation that was on the verge of happening and so much greatness that was going to happen. So the fact that it was all halted at that point, I would love for it to pick back up one day and take off. So I think -- we didn’t even touch the tip of the iceberg of what could be done.

After walking out of WWE in 2022, Mone returned to pro wrestling for NJPW and Stardom last year. Mone has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury in May 2023.

Mone is expected to make her AEW debut at the Big Business edition of Dynamite in Boston next Wednesday (March 13).

Belair recently competed in the women's Elimination Chamber match at WWE's Elimination Chamber event in Australia. Becky Lynch won the match, earning a Women's World Championship shot against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40.
