Wrestling fans love their insider news and backstage gossip, but at what cost?

On Monday, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that some AEW stars are growing frustrated with aspects of the company's creative process. 

While AEW does afford performers more more input and creative freedom than they'd get elsewhere, company president Tony Khan has been keeping things close to the vest up until the last minute.

"Guys are getting their information about what they’re doing later, and decisions are being made later," said Meltzer. "That’s just how it is. At times, it’s the day of the show, and they don’t know. 

Tony Khan Trying To Stop Leaks

According to AEW Producer Jerry Lynn, this practice has been employed deliberately in hopes of preventing storylines 'leaking' out ahead of time. Lynn, an ECW legend who has been with AEW for many for years, defenned Tony Khan and said he's justified in his actions, despite the frustrations it may cause,

"Because wrestlers and God knows who else have and continue to leak info to the sheets, podcasts, etc. So Tony tries to keep things confidential. You wouldn’t want to know everything before you see a movie. Anyone who leaks info is doing damage to the product and the industry."

Lynn plays a major role behind the scenes at AEW, but the former 'Mr. JL' does appear on television from time to time. He most recently appeared on Dynamite prior to All In. He teased a match against Jack Perry, but instead introduced his longtime friend and rival - Rob Van Dam.

An example of Khan keeping big plans to himself until the last minute to prevent leaks is the fast turnover between MJF vs. Kenny Omega on this past weekend on AEW Collision. It was literally three days before on AEW Dynamite where Omega challenged MJF to defend his record-holding reign against MJF,
