Nearly a week after AEW released CM Punk on Saturday following his physical altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In 2023, the promotion has cut ties with Punk’s good friend Ace Steel.

Punk pushed for the promotion to rehire him after they released him for his part in All Out brawl last year, where he has been working remotely as a producer. Once Punk was let go, many thought it was just a matter of time before Steel would be next.

Before Punk’s AEW return for the premiere of Collision, he and AEW had been at odds over a misunderstanding regarding bringing back Steel, leading to Punk being removed from the AEW Collision announcement only for Steel to be hired back and Punk went forward with his return.

Pwinsider reports Steel was released by AEW earlier today. Steel had working remotely instead of at Collision shows to prevent issues between him and talent.
