Report reveals details of Caitlin Clark's expected endorsement deal with Nike

Caitlin Clark continues to shatter gender barriers.

According to The Athletic, the Indiana Fever rookie is nearing an eight-figure endorsement deal with Nike and is expected to receive a signature shoe as part of the agreement.

The report added that Clark received "sizable offers" from Under Armour and Adidas, but the Iowa alum chose to sign with Nike instead.

Clark's previous NIL deal with Nike concluded at the end of her college basketball career, which allowed her to hit the marketplace at the peak of her popularity.

The sharpshooter's lucrative deal with Nike shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Clark had a tremendous financial impact on the college game, setting viewership and attendance records through her final season with the Hawkeyes and attracting many first-time viewers to women's basketball. The Iowa vs. South Carolina national title game was witnessed by a record 18.9 million viewers.

Clark is already bringing her huge fanbase to the pro level. Since joining the WNBA, Clark has set jersey sale records, caused a huge spike in ticket inquiries and even forced the Fever to move to bigger arenas to accommodate her growing fanbase. Furthermore, Monday's WNBA Draft set viewership records due to Clark going No. 1 to Indiana.

The 22-year-old is also entering the public consciousness through other mediums, making a cameo on last weekend's "Saturday Night Live" that was widely praised.

To Clark's credit, she has remained humble through her rise to superstardom.

"If I’m being completely honest, I feel like it doesn't change a ton from how I lived my life over the course of the last year," Clark said after the WNBA Draft. "Sponsorships stay the same. The people around me, agents and whatnot, have been able to help me and guide me through the course of the last year. I don't know if I would be in this moment if it wasn't for a lot of them."
