In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United’s pursuit of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has hit a snag as the player has reportedly expressed a strong desire to join Tottenham Hotspur during the upcoming January transfer window, as per The Sun.

This preference from Guirassy has handed Spurs a significant advantage, redirecting United’s attention towards Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, according to reports.

The Red Devils, having been informed of Guirassy’s inclination towards Spurs, have swiftly shifted their focus to exploring the possibility of securing En-Nesyri’s services instead.

Tottenham’s urgency for attacking reinforcements has intensified due to the forthcoming unavailability of Heung-min Son, set to participate in the Asian Cup games starting in January.

His absence leaves Spurs with a limited attacking roster comprising Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Richarlison, with the latter being the only recognised central forward.

And considering Richarlison’s inconsistent form, Spurs are actively seeking a potent goal threat.

Guirassy emerges as a promising candidate, having displayed impressive form this season with 17 Bundesliga goals in 14 appearances and a remarkable 19 goals in 16 games across all competitions.

While Newcastle and West Ham also express interest, Guirassy’s reported preference for Spurs aligns with Tottenham’s pressing need for attacking depth, potentially paving the way for an intriguing January transfer move to North London.
