There are Fears for Lavia’s Injury in the Chelsea Camp

Chelsea signed Lavia from Southampton after fighting it out with Liverpool for his signature in the summer transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino’s side received a huge blow when reports came out that the teenager had suffered an ankle injury during a training session and it is feared that the injury could be serious.

Kinsella provided an update on the 19-year-old’s situation, stating that there are fears regarding his injury in the Chelsea camp. The midfielder could be sidelined for an extended period of time. The English reporter revealed that the Belgian was training in a small group to get back to fitness after he missed the pre-season due to the transfer saga surrounding him.

The Blues’ medical team is still assessing the injury and the club is yet to put out a press release stating the extent of the injury. However, early signs are not positive for the big-money summer signing.

Chelsea’s Injury Crisis

The Premier League giants have been hit with an injury crisis at the beginning of the season. They currently have multiple players, including some key starters out of action due to injury.

Christopher Nkunku underwent surgery to rectify a knee issue and is not expected to return any time soon. Wesley Fofana has been ruled out for a considerable time with an anterior cruciate ligament injury and star right-back Reece James is nursing a thigh issue, which has kept him out of action since the start of the season.

Carney Chukwuemeka, Mykhailo Mudryk, Armando Broja, Benoit Badiashile and Trevor Chalobah make up the long list of absentees for the Stamford Bridge side.
