Mile Svilar has upset the hierarchies between the sticks at Roma, changing the team’s transfer market plans, but the brass will still need to make some moves to solidify the position in the summer. The youngster has started to draw interest, and the Giallorossi will have to hand him an improved contract given his new status, Corriere dello Sport informs (via Fantacalcio).

The shot-stopper has three more years on his deal and makes €700k, one of the lowest salaries on the squad. The conversations to raise it are underway. There’s traction for a renewal to come together without too much drama.

Rui Patricio will leave the club at the natural conclusion of his contract in June. Rome were already mulling to sign a new starter, but Svilar will spare them the trouble. Instead, they’ll look for an experienced deputy.

The Giallorossi have been offered Loris Karius, who will leave Newcastle United as a free agent. He’s campaigning to transfer to Serie A as he’ll marry Italian showgirl Diletta Leotta in June. He’s represented by Claudio Marchisio.

Our Take on the Roma Goalkeepers

They’ll be set for a few years if they’ll resist the temptation of turning a profit on Svilar, which is not so sure since he was signed for free, his valuation has ballooned in a hurry, and they might be able to find a serviceable starter from a Serie A minnow spending less than his price tag.
