Premier League club monitoring Tottenham striker’s situation amid latest developments

Tottenham summer signing Alejo Veliz has not had the best of starts to his life at Tottenham.

The highly-rated youngster was signed from Rosario Central for a transfer fee believed to be around €15 million.

But he could not get a lot of playing time with first-team ahead of Son and Richarlison. He only made eight appearances for Spurs, playing only 42 minutes of football.

Alejo Veliz’s treatment at Sevilla

In January, Tottenham sought to provide Veliz with a platform for growth by loaning him to Sevilla, with the expectation that he would receive ample playing time in La Liga.

However, the reality has been starkly different, with Veliz making just three appearances for the Spanish side, accumulating a paltry 23 minutes on the pitch.

Sevilla’s treatment of Veliz has left those associated with Spurs upset. Former Spurs scout Bryan King even urged the club to bring him back to the club and loan him out to an English club instead.

Recent reports indicate that Tottenham are indeed contemplating Veliz’s future, with renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano suggesting that the player is set to return from Sevilla.

The club are reportedly already exploring potential loan options for Veliz for the upcoming season.

Bournemouth are monitoring Veliz’s situation

In the midst of this uncertainty, Premier League outfit Bournemouth have emerged as a potential loan destination for Veliz next season.

According to Argentine journalist Uriel Lugt, Bournemouth are closely monitoring Veliz’s situation, indicating their interest in securing his services.

He shared on X (translated below):

“Bournemouth are attentive to Alejo Veliz’s situation.”

“In June he will return to #Tottenham and it is almost a fact that he will go out on loan.”

Latest development: Veliz returns to North London

It was reported earlier today that Veliz missed the training at Sevilla with permission from the club and travelled back to London to address undisclosed bureaucratic matters alongside representatives from Tottenham.

Why he has returned to London and whether it has anything to do with Tottenham’s interest in cancelling his loan spell remains to be seen.
