Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr walked off the field in tears 32 minutes into Sunday's Premier League game against Bournemouth.
Sarr had earlier fired Spurs 1-0 up with a fine low strike from 18 yards - the second goal of his EPL career.
But he was then forced out of the game with an injury that could rule him out of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Sarr looked heartbroken as he left the pitch with his shirt covering his face.
He was consoled by Spurs captain Son Heung-min, before receiving a sympathetic pat on the back from manager Ange Postecoglou.
Sunday's game was supposed to be Sarr's final club appearance before joining up with his Senegal teammates for AFCON 2023 - which is actually being played in 2024 between January 13 and February 11.
The 21-year-old had been named alongside Sadio Mane in Senegal's 27-man squad earlier in the week.
Sarr has been capped 18 times at senior international level since making his Senegal debut in 2021.
