Monza are keen on signing AC Milan player Daniel Maldini on a permanent deal this summer, despite only a handful of appearances for the club since arriving in January.

According to Tuttosport (via Pianeta Milan), the Brianzoli are happy with Maldini’s contributions and think he is worth adding to the team on a permanent basis.

Maldini was on loan at Empoli earlier this season but failed to make any impact, so he was sent to Monza for the second half of the season.

He has scored two important goals from the bench this season, but he is not a regular starter under Raffaelle Palladino. Despite this, Monza are willing to try and secure a permanent deal for the Italian.

In terms of finances, Milan are expected to request the same deal that Empoli had in place. The Azzurri had the option to make the loan permanent in the summer for €4m, with Milan having a €5m buy-back clause in case Maldini developed into a much stronger player than he is right now.

Contacts have been made between the two clubs who have a strong working relationship, and it may not take very long to strike a deal if Maldini is also keen on the move.
