Recent developments within Tottenham Hotspur indicate a strong desire to secure a winger during the upcoming summer transfer window, with Wolves’ Pedro Neto emerging as a top target.

However, journalist Ben Jacobs suggests that Spurs may hesitate to meet the substantial price tag set by Wolves for the Portuguese international.

During a Q&A session for The Athletic, David Ornstein disclosed that Wolves are seeking around £80 million for Pedro Neto.

Ben Jacobs believes that Tottenham’s hierarchy perceives this valuation to be £10 million to £15 million higher than what they are prepared to offer.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he stated:

“Even though they haven’t technically replaced Harry Kane, if they use Son or Richarlison to lead the line, and Timo Werner does stay permanently, maybe there is space in that Neto position.

“So, I think that it is likely that Tottenham will be there and will rekindle that interest. But I also think there’s a £10m to £15m gulf between how suitors value Neto compared to the number Wolves want now.”

This means, Spurs are willing to spend up to £65-70m on Pedro Neto.

Neto has shown impressive form this season, registering two goals and providing nine assists in 17 English top-flight appearances, ranking him as the fourth-highest in the division for assists.

With Ange Postecoglou keen to bolster the squad with a wide forward for the upcoming season, Tottenham face stiff competition for Neto’s signature, with Liverpool and Arsenal also reportedly interested.

However, Spurs are set to face stiff competition for his signature, with reports suggesting Liverpool and Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing him.

Furthermore, Financial Fair Play and PSR rules may compel Wolves to sell Neto to raise funds for transfers in the summer, potentially giving interested clubs leverage in negotiations.
