'I would have been out the door' – Former Chelsea director on his predecessors

One former Chelsea director has been speaking off the back of Chelsea’s defeat against Liverpool in The Carabao Cup final yesterday.

A lot has been said since the full time whistle went at Wembley on Sunday afternoon and as usual, there are a lot of fallouts and takeaways from the game.

Not only did Chelsea lose the final yesterday, they also dropped to 11th place in the league because they had no league game and others underneath won.

And as we approach March, Chelsea being in 11th place in the league is just not good enough and has had many people speaking about the former ownership under Roman Abramovich.

Roman would hire and fire constantly, but it would bring success, at least in the form of regular trophies anyway.

And former Chelsea director Christian Purslow, who worked under Abramovich at the club, says he would have been sacked if he was under performing.

In words picked up by Chels HQ, Purslow said: “Roman Abramovich liked winning and he didn’t like coming second, let alone third, God forbid fourth. The culture was brutal, the culture was win. Everybody in that club knew that if you don’t win, you’re out.

“If I had been even remotely off in my performance, I would have been out the door in two seconds — as a number of coaches were under his tenure. Not everybody thinks that’s the right way to run a club, but the haul of trophies was remarkable.
