Inter Milan wingback Matteo Darmian feels that “Everything was perfect” as the Nerazzurri beat AC Milan to clinch the Serie A title.

The 34-year-old spoke to Rede98, via FCInterNews, reacting to the team’s derby victory over the Rossoneri.

Now it’s official. Inter are Serie A champions for the 2023-24 season.

The Nerazzurri had previously won the title in the 2020-21 campaign.

The last couple seasons have seen the team fail to win the title. They lost in heartbreaking fashion on the last day of the season in 2021-22 – and then last season were miles behind Napoli.

But now, Inter have won their twentieth title. And with it, they can now sew the second star above the crests on their shirts.

A 2-1 win against Milan in a fiery derby was enough to make sure of that.

There were three red cards in what proved to be a dramatic conclusion to the evening.

But when referee Alessandro Colombo blew his final whistle, the Inter players and staff came streaming onto the pitch to celebrate not just the derby win, but the title.

Matteo Darmian: “Everything Was Perfect” As Inter Clinch Serie A Title Vs AC Milan

Speaking during the celebration of the title, Darmian beamed that “Everything was perfect.”

“It’s been a beautiful journey,” the former Manchester United and Torino defender continued. “That started on the very first day.”

“We immediately showed the determination we needed to,” Darmian said of the derby.

“And the desire to attain our goal, which we did in the best way possible.”

“We’ve crowned it with a win in the derby, and the league title.”

“We’ve created something special in the dressing room,” Darmian continued.

“We’re a lot of great guys, and we feel attached to each other not just as players, but also as people.”

“We’ve shown that all season long,” Darmian added.

“Because everyone who’s come on as a substitute has also done well. That’s been the secret to winning the title for us.”
