Xavi Simons, currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to RB Leipzig, is making quite an impression in the Bundesliga. Despite interest from teams like FC Barcelona, which is trying to entice him away from Paris, their hopes are likely to be dashed.

This season at Leipzig, Simons has appeared in 41 matches across all competitions, netting nine goals and providing 15 assists. His performance hasn’t gone unnoticed, with clubs like Barcelona expressing interest in bringing him back after he emerged from their academy.

Jose Alvarez Haya from El Chiringuito reports that Barcelona is in the process of securing a loan deal for Simons, and the player is eager to return to the club. Nonetheless, different information is also circulating.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that PSG is deliberating whether to bring Simons back this summer or extend his loan with Leipzig, with the latter option being highly likely.

Regardless, Jacobs notes that the capital club have a few short-term complexities to sort out as it finalizes its strategies. Selling him to another club seems less probable at the moment and would require an exceptional offer.
