The New York Rangers Announced An Injury Update on Filip Chytil
USA Today Sports

There is an injury update to New York Rangers Centre Filip Chytil, and the news does not sound good. Chytil has suited up for just ten games for the Rangers in 2023-24. He has been plagued by injuries, specifically concussions throughout his career. There is speculation, that throughout his six-year NHL career, he has suffered up to four of them. At this time, in his latest concussion recovery, he has decided to go back home to Czechia.

An Injury Update on the New York Rangers Filip Chytil

For Chytil, in his six years in the NHL, he has struggled to play a full season. His career-high is a 75-game campaign in 2018-19, his rookie season. Since then, injuries have slowed down the 24-year-old as times. Moreover, for a young player, who has battled with concussions, this does seem like a smart move. This will give him a chance to get away from the game. Also, he will be by friends and family to help him make the right decision on his timetable for return to action.

Chytil has been productive, despite no goals thus far this season. He does have six assists. Also, he was playing on a line with Alexis Lafreniere and Artemi Panarin, a high-powered offensive line. Clearly, the organization has confidence in his offensive upside. Last season, he set career-highs in all offensive categories, with 22 goals, and 23 assists for 45 points.

What Does This Mean for the Rangers

For right now, this does not mean a lot for the Rangers in terms of timing. Chytil has been out for over four weeks already, and the team has been able to adjust. They have slotted Vincent Trocheck in between the previously mentioned wingers. The Rangers were playing terrific hockey with Chytil in the lineup, and luckily for them, have continued in his absence. The important thing is Chytil gets the time it needs, to be at his best.
