Reports: Minnesota Wild winger drawing big interest on trade market

Brandon Duhaime has four goals and two assists in 58 games this season but that doesn't mean the Minnesota Wild can't get quite a bit for him if they decide to trade him before the NHL's March 8 deadline.

According to Jacob Stoller of The Hockey News, Duhaime is highly regarded in league circles and could command a "haul" in return if the Wild decide to trade him.

If the [Minnesota Wild] fall out of the playoff race, I wouldn't be surprised if GM Bill Guerin is able to get a haul for Duhaime. Lot of teams are high on Duhaime, who is regarded as a 'playoff style player,' Stoller wrote on X on Monday

Stoller was piggybacking on NHL insider Frank Seravalli's report that Duhaime could be on the move: "I wouldn't be shocked if they traded Brandon Duhaime. I believe the Vancouver Canucks are very interested in Duhaime," Seravalli said Monday on the The DFO Rundown podcast

Michael Russo, who covers the Wild for The Athletic, reported Monday that teams have been calling about Duhaime and it is becoming "increasingly clear" that the Wild won't re-sign Duhaime after the season, making him a viable trade candidate.

Russo thinks a solid return for Duhaime would be something like "a draft pick, a young player or perhaps an NHLer who can help now."

Minnesota (28-24-6) is four points out of the wild card race ahead of their game Tuesday in St. Paul against the Carolina Hurricanes.
