Report: Nikita Zadorov requests trade from the Calgary Flames
Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

Calgary Flames defenceman Nikita Zadorov has requested a trade out of Calgary, per a report on social media from Kevin Weekes of ESPN on Friday night.

While he hasn’t publicly commented on the reported trade request, Zadorov’s agent, Dan Milstein, threw some fuel on the proverbial fire with a post-game quip on social media regarding Zadorov’s playing time.

The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported that Milstein is “hoping for a quick resolution”.

This news dropped Friday night shortly after the Flames lost 5-4 in a shootout in Toronto. Zadorov scored a goal and laid out a huge hit on Tyler Bertuzzi.

Zadorov has been the most vocal Flame about his team’s tough start to the season. He voiced his displeasure with some of his teammates on Oct. 24.

Zadorov was acquired by the Flames in the summer of 2021 from the Chicago Blackhawks for a 2022 third-round pick. He’s played in 168 games over three seasons scoring 19 goals and 29 assists.
