CM Punk was reportedly in the Impact zone this weekend.

Haus of Wrestling is reporting that Punk was backstage when Impact presented its Bound for Glory Fallout TV taping on Sunday. The show took place at Cicero Stadium, just outside Punk's hometown of Chicago.

Punk reportedly arrived just before the taping began in order to avoid making a scene. He is said to have spoken with anyone there who wanted time with him including "key Impact talent" who he spoke with throughout the evening.

Punk's longtime friend, Ace Steel, worked the taping as a producer. Impact considered having Steel enter the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound for Glory but decided against it as they didn't want to get fans' hopes up that Punk would be there. Steel is said to have been warmly received backstage.

Punk was not backstage on Saturday when the promotion presented Bound for Glory. He was in attendance at the Chicago Blackhawks home opener that night and voiced the team's opening video.

Punk was also backstage when Impact Wrestling held a set of TV tapings from Chicago in April. Shortly after Punk was fired from AEW, PWInsider reported that Impact was "super excited" about the possibility of working with Punk. Earlier this month, it was revealed that WWE has decided against hiring Punk for the time being.

Following Punk's backstage visit at Impact's TV tapings in April, our own Lance Storm revealed a conversation he had with Punk at the show.
