Penguins’ Jagr Bobbleheads Stolen, Giveaway Delayed
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Penguins will not give away the 10,000 Jaromir Jagr bobbleheads on Thursday as planned. The team tweeted Thursday morning that the shipment had been stolen en route to Pittsburgh.

On Feb. 19, the Penguins honored Jagr by retiring his number in both a rousing and emotional ceremony. Jagr participated in Penguins’ practice the day before and took part in the pregame skate wearing his iconic No. 68.

All Penguins’ players wore No. 68.

Thursday, the first 10,000 fans were to receive the Jagr bobbleheads. Instead, they will be given a voucher for distribution at a later date.

Jagr is in Pittsburgh to participate in the annual Mario Lemieux Fantasy Camp. Jagr tweeted pictures of himself and Lemieux having dinner Tuesday.

The Penguins organization has not announced any further details or where the shipment was stolen.
