NHL Tuesday bets: Four plus-money plays for your night on the ice

Tuesday's slate in the NHL offers up nine games, and we've kept it simple here with just four bets that offer up some tremendous value (in our eyes at least). Today's all about props, with six players in advantageous situations tonight.

Brayden Point over 1.5 points (+165 DK)

Tampa is in the obvious smash spot of the day, and I'd certainly like a few shares of the action. The Lightning are averaging 4.1 goals per game at home over their last 10, the second-highest mark in the league, and Brayden Point has been a massive reason why.

Point has two points in four straight at home, five of his last six and nine of his last 14 games. Considering Tampa Bay is -260 to go over 3.5 goals in regulation, the expectation is scoring, and I think a pivot here to Point's continued involvement is a nice play given his price vs. production.

The one red flag is that Point has not enjoyed much success against Anaheim over the past two seasons. Despite this, I'm moving forward with the play, the Ducks should continue to get peppered this evening, and on a back-to-back, that volume is sure to yield more goals.

Andrei Svechnikov & Brandon Hagel over 2.5 SOG (+169 DK)

Both Carolina and Tampa Bay should be good for 35+ shots on goal tonight, so I'm keeping it relatively simple and loading up the highest-volume shooters I'm seeing as I so often do in these situations.

Svechnikov is averaging 7.0 attempts/game over his last five home games, and he's averaging 3.6 SOG/game this season in Carolina, going over tonight's 2.5 line at a 70% rate. He has nine SOG in his last two games against St. Louis.

As for Hagel - he may by my favorite shot prop of the night against a Ducks team allowing north of 40+ shots per game. Believe it or not, Hagel tops the Lightning in shot attempts over the past five games, logging 3+ SOG in four of those five games.

At home, Hagel has covered his shots on goal line in eight of his past 11 games. There should be plenty to go around tonight, and I like Hagel down at 2.5 compared to so many of the other forwards on this team up at 3.5.

Morgan Rielly over 1.5 SOG & Roman Josi point (+133 DK)

Buffalo has emerged as a solid defensemen shot target, and seeing as they're allowing 33.3 shots per game at home over their past 10, I naturally turned to the Toronto end today. Rielly should be able to capitalize on the Sabres' vulnerability to defensemen.

Rielly has 2+ shots in nine of his last 12 games, averaging three SOG and five attempts per game over his last five.

On the road, Rielly's volume stays steady, and he's gone for three shots in three straight, and today we need just two. Prior to going under in November against Buffalo, Rielly went over 1.5 shots in six straight vs. the Sabres, averaging 3.83 SOG/game in that stretch.

His parlay partner tonight is Roman Josi of Nashville to grab a point. Josi and the Preds are hosting Vancouver tonight, a team allowing 4.9 goals per game in their last 10 on the road.

I will gladly continue to target the Canucks. Josi has a point in 19 of his last 24 games and equally in 19 of his past 24 at home. Josi has recorded a point in 11 of the last 14 meetings against Vancouver.

Jack Eichel over 3.5 SOG (+105 DK)

Jack Eichel loves shooting on the road, and I love winning shots on goal bets. Put it together, and I'm going to bet on Eichel tonight on the road.

Vegas heads to Chicago tonight, and while the Blackhawks haven't been as loose against shots at home, I do still expect the Golden Knights to easily dictate the pace tonight.

Eichel is averaging 4.4 SOG/game in his last 10 road games on 7.3 attempts/game, and I'm surprised we're getting this at plus-money. Eichel has gone for 4+ shots in seven of his past 10 games against Chicago.
