The National Hockey League announced the four coaches who will represent their divisions at the 2023 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend in Sunrise, Florida. The All-Star Weekend gets underway Friday, Feb. 3 with the NHL All-Star Skills competition, followed by the All-Star Game on Saturday.

The four coaches named to the All-Star game are the Carolina Hurricanes’ Rod Brind’Amour, Boston Bruins’ Jim Montgomery, Dallas Stars’ Pete DeBoer and Vegas Golden Knights’ Bruce Cassidy. Each coach will represent his respective division.

Brind’Amour will be the head coach of the Metropolitan Division. He has led the hurricanes to a 25-9-7 record and .695 points percentage. This will be his second All-Star appearance as a coach, as last year he became the first head coach of the Carolina/Hartford era to represent the club. Brind’Amour has led the Hurricanes to two division titles, the first of which was the franchise’s first division championship since 2005-06. He became the first coach in Hurricanes history to win the Jack Adams Award as the league’s best coach in 2020-21. In five seasons with the Hurricanes, he has earned a 199-95-35 record.

Montgomery was named the Atlantic Division head coach. Montgomery assumed coaching duties with the Bruins in October after previously coaching with the Stars. He has led the Bruins to an astonishing record of 32-4-4, the best in the league. This will be Montgomery’s first All-Star game.

DeBoer was named the Central Division head coach, his second All-Star appearance as a coach. Last year he represented the Golden Knights. DeBoer was named head coach of the Stars in June 2022 after they parted ways with Rick Bowness. DeBoer has led the Stars to a 25-11-6 record, and they currently sit first in the Central Division.

Cassidy will serve as the Pacific Division head coach. The 2019-20 Jack Adams award winner has led the Golden Knights to the top of the Pacific with a record of 27-13-2 and a points percentage of .667 on the season. This is Cassidy’s second appearance as a coach at the All-Star Game. In 2020, he represented the Bruins in the Atlantic Division. Cassidy has an overall coaching record of 319-168-55.
