NHL betting: Two players to bet on for the Stars vs. Golden Knights Round 1 playoff series

The Stanley Cup playoff series between the Dallas Stars and defending champion Vegas Golden Knights promises to pack an offensive punch from every angle. So why not place a wager on one of these high-scoring teams?

This rematch of last year's Western Conference Final is sure to bring out the best in each roster's goal-scorers, as Dallas seeks revenge for being booted from Cup contention in 2023 and Vegas aims to prove they are the same elite force. The Golden Knights have most of the core of their Cup-winning team back on the ice with Jonathan Marchessault leading the charge, while Jamie Benn's side has gotten an impressive scoring boost from youngster Wyatt Johnston. These are just a couple of the players who are sure to find the back of the net multiple times in this series.

However, one player from each team has a little more intrigue than the rest of the pack — especially when it comes to placing your prop bets

Here are two players to bet on in the Stars-Golden Knights series, which begins on April 22.

The defending champion Knights may be the +120 underdog at DraftKings to win this Round 1 series, but there still promises to be plenty of goal-scoring. And if you want to zero in on one player to wager on, look no further than Jack Eichel.

The 27-year-old center enters the 2024 postseason on a hot streak, registering six goals in his last eight games of the regular season. He finished his 2023-24 campaign with 31 goals in 63 games and 68 points on the season, so he's primed to take a scoring streak into the first round of the playoffs as well.

Eichel is priced at +160 at DK to be an anytime goalscorer, which is the shortest odds of any player in the Stars-Golden Knights series. At those odds, betting on Eichel to find the back of the net is a good move.

Keeping the Stars from finding the back of the net will be a challenge. They did end the regular season with a +64 goal differential after all. But if there is one player you can really count on to find the back of the net in this series, it's Jason Robertson.

The 24-year-old California native might not have eclipsed the 109-point season he put together in 2023, but he is still a formidable weapon in Dallas's deep scoring arsenal. He finished the regular season with 80 points in 82 games and scored twice in his last four games of the season. To top it off, he has three goals and three assists in nine career regular-season games against Vegas and got the better of them in last year's playodds. Suffice it to say, he is battle-tested against the Golden Knights' defense.

Robertson is listed at +180 at DK to an anytime goalscorer and he is the betting favorite at -190 to register Over 0.5 points. At those odds, it would be more of a shock if Joe Pavelski didn't set him up to find the back of the net on home ice on Monday night.

Whether you are leaning on the Stars or the Golden Knights to win the first game of this best-of-seven series, you can't go wrong with betting one of these elite goal-scorers will light the lamp. Place those prop bets now so you can kick back and enjoy the madness when the Stars host the Golden Knights in Game 1.

Puck drop for that tilt is 9:30 p.m. ET.
