NHL bets: Five props you'll love for Tuesday 2/14

We had ourselves a nice night to start the week, and now the goal is to maintain those winning ways. Tonight in the NHL offers us nine games, and we've identified five prop plays worth a wager on this fine Tuesday.

Jordan Kyrou over 3.5 SOG (-115 DK)

Jordan Kyrou and the Blues will host the Panthers, a team on their second game in as many days. Florida is a team I like to target for shots as their games tend to be shotfests on both ends. The Panthers are allowing 32.3 shots per game over their past 10 on the road, and they're struggling with penalties which gives me more confidence to look towards the opposition for some SOG props.

Jordan Kyrou tops St. Louis in power play shooting over the last 10 games with 11, and knowing that he's chipping in at least one shot per game when skating a man-up is enough for me to look his way here in a game he's likely to see plenty of ice time on the PP.

Kyrou is over 3.5 shots in six of his last eight games and four of his last five at home. Kyrou is averaging a beautiful 9.4 attempts per game at home over his last five, making this price a bargain in my eyes.

Kyrou had five SOG in an earlier meeting with Florida this year, scoring twice.

Martin Necas over 2.5 SOG (+102 FD)

There was a time there where Martin Necas was consistently listed at 3.5 shots, so to see him not just down at 2.5 again but now at plus-money feels a bit odd.

I like Carolina for shots tonight. They average nearly 33 shots per game as a team on the road over their last 10 while Washington is allowing about 31 per game at home in the same stretch of games. Alex Ovechkin is out tonight, which suggests to me that the Hurricanes are going to find even more shots as puck possession becomes a bit more likely.

Necas has been a bit up-and-down lately, which is why his line dipped down, but he's been a steady force on the road. He's gone over 2.5 shots at a 74% clip on the road, which includes seven of his last 10, a span that has him averaging 5.5 attempts per game. Necas has four SOG in two straight meetings against the Capitals, and I like following the road production at this price.

Thomas Chabot over 2.5 SOG (-110 DK)

Another price that I find just incredibly reasonable is here with Thomas Chabot. The Islanders have allowed the fourth-most shots per game to defensemen over the past 10 games, and as a team they consistently are allowing 30-34 shots per game.

Chabot has gone for 3+ SOG in seven of his past nine games and three straight on the road. In his past three away hits, Chabot has tallied seven or more shot attempts each time.

Chabot has also enjoyed some nice games against the Islanders, going for 4+ SOG in six of his last eight meetings. Tonight we need just three.

Hampus Lindholm over 1.5 SOG & Valeri Nichushkin over 2.5 SOG (+174 DK)

Another solid target for defensemen shots lately is Dallas, allowing the ninth-most to the position over the past 10 games. In slots Hampus Lindholm of the Bruins in a game I expect Boston to tally 32+ shots on goal.

Lindholm has been cruising lately, notching five or more attempts in five straight games and logging three SOG or more in four of those games - all of which came on the road. I'm down to follow that production here.

We'll pair him with Valeri Nichushkin to get us to plus-money. Nichushkin and the Avalanche will host Tampa Bay just six days after losing to them 5-0. I expect Colorado to push the pace here, and the numbers suggest 31+ SOG is a reasonable expectation for this Avalanche offense.

Nichushkin has gone over 2.5 shots in six of eight, three straight and in seven of his last eight meetings with the Lightning. In those eight games, Nichushkin averages 4.4 SOG/game, going for four or more SOG six times.

.5u: Blake Wheeler point (-122 FD)

I was not expecting to be so blown away by Blake Wheeler's history against Seattle, but here we are. In four career games against the Kraken, Wheeler has three goals, five total points, and he's finished with shot totals of six, six, four and five.

Seattle has allowed 3.3 goals per game over their last 10 on the road, and Wheeler has seven points in his last five home games. I'll bite.
