NHL announces start times for May 11 playoff games

In the final hours of midweek work shifts, the NHL offered fans somewhat of a gift ahead of the weekend.

Per NHL Public Relations, the league revealed several updates to the playoff schedule for this coming Wednesday, May 11.

Game 5 between the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers that will take place at Madison Square Garden will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN. Pittsburgh defeated New York 4-3 in triple overtime at MSG on Tuesday night, but the Rangers tied the series via Thursday's impressive 5-2 victory.

Game 5 between the Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers at FLA Live Arena will start at 7:30 p.m. ET and air on ESPN2. Washington won the series' opening contest 4-2, but the Panthers crushed the Capitals to the tune of 5-1 on Thursday.

If a Game 5 between the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche is necessary at Ball Arena, it will start at 9:30 p.m. ET and be shown on ESPN. Colorado grabbed a 2-0 series lead on Thursday.

As of Friday afternoon, there was no start time or broadcast information for Game 5 between the Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome. Those clubs split the first two matchups of their series.
