New Jersey Devils’ Tomas Nosek returns to lineup tonight vs. Avalanche
Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Good news out of New Jersey, Devils forward Tomas Nosek will return to the lineup tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.

Nosek was placed on long-term injured reserve by the Devils last month and has been out of action since Nov. 18th after suffering a foot injury. He played just six games before that, missing time early in the season before returning in mid-November and re-aggravating the issue.

Nosek signed a one-year deal worth $1 million after tying his career-best of 18 points last year with the Boston Bruins. Nosek was coming off of a two-year deal he signed with Boston that was worth $3.5 million.

The 31-year-old was never drafted into the NHL but was signed by the Detroit Red Wings in 2014. He played two seasons in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins before making his NHL debut in the 2015-16 season with the Red Wings. After three seasons in Detroit Nosek was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft. Nosek scored 15 points that year in 67 games with four goals and six points in 17 playoff games during Vegas’ memorable Stanley Cup finals run in 2018.

Through nine NHL seasons the Czechia product has tallied 42 goals and 59 assists for 101 points in 404 games with the Red Wings, Golden Knights, Bruins and Devils.

Meanwhile, more good news coming out of New Jersey, superstar forward Jack Hughes was skating today and wearing a regular contact jersey indicating a close return. Hughes has been off the ice for a month since getting injured in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 5.
