Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (21) will be a game-time decision for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday against the Colorado Avalanche. Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Addressing media Monday at Amalie Arena, Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said star forward Brayden Point will be a game-time decision for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday against the Colorado Avalanche. Point did not attend the morning skate.

Point returned in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final after missing the last two series with an upper-body injury he received during Game 7 in the Lightning’s first-round matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Point, 26, has two goals and three assists in nine playoff games so far. He has one assist through the first two games of the series against Colorado. The Lightning trail the series 2-0 after absorbing a 7-0 beating from the Avalanche in Game 2.

Point has played a vital role in the Lightning’s back to back Stanley Cup championships, scoring 14 goals in each of their title runs in 2020 and 2021.
