Jets' Pierre-Luc Dubois accepts one-year, $6 million qualifying offer

On Friday, the Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed to terms with restricted free agent Pierre-Luc Dubois on a one-year, $6 million contract.

The Jets and Dubois have had a dubious relationship since they acquired him from the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Patrik Laine deal last year

Last month, Dubois reportedly informed the Jets that he planned to test the open market in 2024 when he can become an unrestricted free agent, rather than negotiate a long-term extension with the team.

In his first full season with the Jets, Dubois posted 60 points (28 goals, 32 assists) in 81 regular-season games, one point from tying his career high set in 2018-19.

The Blue Jackets selected Dubois with the third overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft. Dubois made his NHL debut the following year, going on to play parts of four seasons in Columbus. He registered 159 points (66 goals, 93 assists) in 239 games for the Blue Jackets.

Over a season-and-a-half for the Jets, Dubois has 80 points (36 goals, 44 assists) over 122 games.
