Evaluating Nicolas Roy's 2022 Campaign at All-Star Break
USA TODAY Sports

Vegas Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy has been a streaky asset for the club so far this season.

The forward has had strong stretches here and there but at other times, has gone a bit quiet.

His line of him, William Carrier and Keegan Kolesar has been one of the main highlights of this season and has been the second-most used line behind the Misfits.

In total, Roy has compiled nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 48 games this season.

Roy earned three points (three assists) in the club's first four games of the season.

Just two games later, he earned his first goal of the season and even scored his second just two games after that.

From Nov. 3 to Nov. 10, Roy went on a four-game point streak that included three assists and back-to-back games with goals for a total of five points.

Roy later had his worst stretch of the season, scoring just a single point in the entire month of December. His drought lasted 13 games.

Then, in a performance that seemingly came from nowhere, the fourth-year Golden Knight posted a two-goal outing in the team's win over the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 2. One of his goals was the game winner.

Roy's first display of the new year ignited three more games with at least a point, including a goal against the Florida Panthers on Jan. 12.

Since then, though, the forward has fallen out of his rhythm, having recorded just one contest with at least a point in his last eight games.

That one-game exception was a one-goal, two-assist outing against the Washington Capitals.

That game was Vegas' only win in its last eight contests.

Roy had a career season last year (39 points in 78 games) and is capable of having another one if he can become more consistent offensively.

He and the Golden Knights will be back in action when they go up against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
