Ducks Top Pick Leo Carlsson Injured in Freak Sequence

2023 second overall pick Leo Carlsson had to be helped off the ice during a Flames 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night after an unfortunate turn of events led to defenceman MacKenzie Weegar falling on the side of the 18-year-old’s leg.

Carlsson ranks eighth in scoring on the Anaheim Ducks this season with eight goals and seven assists in 22 games. The six-foot-three, 198-pound center has been a bright spot during a dark 12-20-0 season. The Ducks currently sit in 29th place with 24 points.
