David Pastrnak knocks Leafs out of playoffs with OT goal in Game 7

It doesn’t get much better for a hockey player than what David Pastrnak did on Saturday night.

Pastrnak scored the winning goal in overtime to give his Boston Bruins a 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the deciding Game 7 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. The goal was Pastrnak’s third of the series and the one that ended it.

Pastrnak barely got the puck past Ilya Samsonov for the win just under two minutes into overtime.

The Bruins had opened a 3-1 series lead on the Leafs, but lost Games 5 and 6 by 2-1 scores to force a Game 7 in Boston. The B’s made it as suspenseful as possible before finally getting the win.

The reaction from Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman to Pastrnak’s winning goal was amazing.

The Bruins now advance to face the Florida Panthers in the second round.
