Arizona Coyotes forward Johan Larsson has been suspended two games for an illegal check to the head of St. Louis Blues forward Zach Sanford, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced Saturday.
The hit occurred during the third period of Arizona's 4-1 loss to St. Louis on Friday. Larsson was given a two-minute penalty for the hit.

Larsson, who has one goal in 13 games this season, is in his first year with the Coyotes. He previously played for the Minnesota Wild and Buffalo Sabres.
The 28-year-old has been suspended only one other time. He missed two games in 2018 for cross-checking.
