Bruins forward Ondrej Kase ruled out for remainder of Stanley Cup Playoffs

Boston Bruins forward Ondrej Kase had a rough season, to say the least.

The Czech winger suffered a concussion in the second game of the 2020-21 season and didn't return until May 10 against the New York Islanders.

In his first game back from a concussion, Kase suffered another upper-body injury. The hope was that he would be able to return later in the postseason, but Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced Monday that the 25-year-old has been shut down for the remainder of the season.

The Bruins acquired Kase in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks last season. Boston gave up a first-round pick, David Backes' contract and defensive prospect Axel Andersson in the deal.

In nine total regular-season games with the Bruins, Kase has notched just one assist. He had four assists in 11 playoff games last season.
