Blackhawks Status Updates: Anthony Beauvillier, Cole Guttman, Jarred Tinordi

The Blackhawks acquired Beauvillier in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. Since he previously played in his home country of Canada, Beauvillier is working through the visa process to join the Blackhawks full-time.

The Quebec native will miss Tuesday's game against the Detroit Red Wings, but he could make his Blackhawks debut on Saturday when Chicago visits the Winnipeg Jets. However, the Blackhawks return to the States afterward, which could see Beauvillier miss a few more games while the visa situation plays out.

Beauvillier posted eight points (two goals, six assists) in 22 games for the Canucks before the midseason trade. With Corey Perry no longer in the mix, the Blackhawks are hoping Beauvillier can fill in with some point production among the forward group.

Cole Guttman

Guttman is dealing with a lower-body injury that sidelined him Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken. He didn't take line rushes during Thursday's morning skate and his status is day-to-day.

Guttman is amid his second stint with the Blackhawks this season after being recalled in the wake of injuries to Andreas Athanasiou and Taylor Hall. The 24-year-old, who last played on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues, has one goal in five games with the NHL club.

Jarred Tinordi

Tinordi hasn't seen the ice since Nov. 9 when he suffered an oblique injury that resulted in a trip to injured reserve. The rugged defenseman may be nearing a return, however, as he's expected to take contact in practice on Friday. The team will then evaluate Tinordi's readiness for game action.

Tinordi doesn't fill up the stat sheet — he has just one assist in nine games this season — but he provides a physical presence on the Blackhawks' blue line. When he's ready to return, he could replace Isaak Phillips in the lineup.
