Blackhawks' Jarred Tinordi Likely to Miss Time with Hip Injury
Bruce Fedyck-USA TODAY Sports

The ailment caused Jarred Tinordi to exit early from Sunday's game against the Canucks.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Jarred Tinordi is dealing with a nagging hip injury, which caused him to exit early from Sunday's game against the Vancouver Canucks. He may miss a few games as a result, per head coach Luke Richardson.

Claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers prior to opening night, the veteran has brought a physical presence to the Blackhawks' blue line throughout a rebuilding season.

In 41 games entering Sunday, Tinordi logged eight points (two goals, six assists), 131 hits, 64 blocks, and 38 penalty minutes. He added two more hits in 7:36 of ice time prior to his premature departure from Sunday's contest.

The 31-year-old is no stranger to putting his body on the line, as he previously suffered a series of facial injuries that required surgery to "wire it together." Tinordi missed over two months in the aftermath, but his tenacious style of play hasn't subsided since returning to action.

The Blackhawks expect to know more about Jarred Tinordi's injury prior to Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars. If he does end up missing time, recently signed rookie Wyatt Kaiser will likely draw back into the lineup.
