The Chicago Blackhawks sent a pair of players down to the Rockford IceHogs on Monday morning. Defenseman Isaak Phillips and forward Josiah Slavin will rejoin the AHL club.

Both players were up with the Blackhawks for just one game during this most recent stint. Isaak Phillips recorded two shots on goal, two hits, and one block in 16:47 of ice time against St. Louis on Sunday. Josiah Slavin had one shot, one hit, and won three of four faceoffs while playing 14:37 vs. the Blues.

These roster moves come as the Blackhawks prepare to welcome back a veteran forward and defenseman.

Interim head coach Derek King expects Tyler Johnson to return to game action for the first time since October when Chicago hosts Edmonton on Thursday night. On the blue line, Calvin de Haan missed the Blackhawks’ last two games due to a right groin strain. He was a game-time decision for both contests, so he could be ready to go when the Oilers come to town on Thursday.
