Per Sportsnet Insider Elliot Friedman on his renowned 32 Thoughts Podcast, the Colorado Avalanche versus Winnipeg Jets first-round postseason series is slated to begin on April 22.

The NHL has something of a lacking effort when it comes to informing fans and media of the start dates for various Stanley Cup Playoffs series. The only official confirmation from the NHL this year has been that the playoffs will begin on April 20 (though which teams are beginning which series has been unmentioned since).

Lucky for fans, Friedman has been a reliable source for scheduling information before the league makes official proclamations. This is appreciated, given the Stanley Cup Playoffs are only five days away and we have yet to receive a schedule announcement.

The Avalanche have one remaining regular season tilt (Thursday, April 18 at home against he Edmonton Oilers) so will be set for a four-day break to prepare for the first round matchup.

Coverage has yet to be announced, but rights to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for 2024 are shared by ESPN, ABC, TNT, and TBS (Turner Media, Disney Media). Those four channels will likely each host various games throughout the first three rounds. ABC will be carrying the fourth and final round, the Stanley Cup Finals.
